This page measures participation across every eligible crypto-only Binance USDT spot market above the $1 million rolling 24-hour quote-volume floor, then displays the 40 largest absolute 24-hour movers so both gainers and decliners remain visible. Binance product tags and a maintained fallback catalog exclude bStocks, tokenized ETFs, stable-value products, tokenized commodities and leveraged tokens. The table is not the breadth calculation itself: all eligible markets contribute one equal vote, while UTC-day additions and removals from the liquidity denominator are disclosed separately. This is one liquid venue universe, not every cryptocurrency or exchange.

Breadth uses eligible native-crypto Binance USDT spot markets above the displayed 24-hour quote-volume floor after the shared product classifier runs. It is not a count of every Binance product, cryptocurrency or exchange.
How to read this page
- Breadth distinguishes market-wide participation from a move driven by a few large coins.
- The median reduces the influence of a single extreme winner or loser.
- The universe has an explicit liquidity floor and venue boundary.
- BTC-led, altcoin-resilient and mixed regimes describe current participation, not forecasts.
What can this page tell you quickly?
- Best for
- Deciding whether a headline market move is broadly shared across liquid spot markets.
- Strongest evidence
- Advancer count, decliner count, median return and BTC comparison use one rolling window.
- Main limitation
- Equal-count Binance USDT breadth is not market-cap-weighted global breadth.
- Update rhythm
- The snapshot refreshes about every 30 seconds as Binance 24-hour tickers and eligibility change.
How is crypto market breadth calculated?
Each eligible market contributes one direction based on its rolling 24-hour percentage change. Positive is advancing, negative is declining and zero is flat. CoinNudge reports the counts, share advancing, median move and participation beyond plus or minus 3%.
The one-market-one-vote design shows participation rather than capitalization. Bitcoin therefore cannot overwhelm the count, but a small eligible altcoin has the same vote as a much larger asset. Quote volume and universe size remain visible so the boundary can be judged.
| Measure | Question answered | Important boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Up / down count | How many markets participate in each direction? | Equal count, not market-cap weight |
| Median return | What did the middle eligible market do? | Rolling 24-hour window |
| ±3% count | How many moves are visibly material? | Threshold is descriptive |
| BTC comparison | Is headline direction shared beyond BTC? | One venue and quote currency |
What do broad advance, broad decline and mixed breadth mean?
A broad advance requires at least 65% of eligible markets to rise and a positive median. A broad decline uses the inverse condition. BTC-led weak breadth means BTC is positive while the median is not; altcoin resilience means BTC is negative while the median is non-negative. Other combinations are mixed.
These labels summarize participation without claiming the market will continue. Breadth can improve before an index turns, remain weak during a BTC rally or reverse quickly as the rolling window changes.
- Broad advance: participation and the median agree upward.
- Broad decline: participation and the median agree downward.
- BTC-led, weak breadth: headline strength is narrower than the eligible universe.
- Mixed breadth: current evidence does not support one broad regime.
Why exclude illiquid crypto markets from breadth?
Tiny markets can show extreme percentage changes on little traded notional. Including every symbol equally would let inactive pairs dominate the count and make the result unstable. The $1 million rolling quote-volume floor focuses the public scan on markets with meaningful observed activity.
The trade-off is coverage: a newly listed or smaller token may be absent even when a user cares about it. CoinNudge states the current universe size and uses personal-coin alerts for selected symbols rather than pretending one breadth index covers all crypto.

How should breadth confirm another crypto signal?
A bullish technical event during broad advance has more cross-market participation than the same event during broad decline. A sector leader during positive breadth may reflect shared risk appetite; the same leader in weak breadth may be an isolated rotation.
Breadth should be paired with volume, sector performance, derivatives positioning and coin-specific structure. It is contextual evidence, not a standalone entry, exit or allocation rule.
How can breadth improve when the same coins have barely moved?
A changing eligible universe can alter the denominator. If weak or illiquid coins leave the scan, the advancing share can rise even without a comparable improvement in the previously observed basket.
The displayed top movers are only a subset of the breadth denominator. Historical membership cannot be reconstructed safely from today's list.
- Compare current membership with the published UTC-day opening universe.
- Separate price-direction changes in retained coins from additions and removals.
- For longitudinal analysis, report a fixed-cohort result alongside the changing-universe result when both are available.
What is measured, and what is not?
| Measured claim | Evidence on this page | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| A stated share of eligible Binance USDT markets is advancing or declining. | Fresh rolling 24-hour tickers and a visible liquidity filter. | This does not count every coin or exchange. |
| The median eligible market is positive or negative. | Cross-sectional median of retained returns. | It is equal-count rather than cap-weighted. |
| BTC direction is broad, narrow or contradicted by the eligible universe. | BTC return compared with median and advancing share. | The regime can change as the rolling window moves. |

Method and data boundary
CoinNudge uses Binance Spot rolling 24-hour tickers for crypto-only USDT markets with at least $1 million in quote volume. One shared classifier reads Binance product tags and excludes bStocks, tokenized ETFs, stable-value products and tokenized commodities; leveraged-token rules and a maintained fallback catalog provide additional protection. CoinNudge counts positive, negative and unchanged returns, then stores the UTC-day opening universe under the current policy version so a classification change rebuilds the opening denominator instead of preserving contaminated membership.
This is a liquid Binance USDT universe, not the entire crypto market. The 24-hour ticker is a rolling window, liquidity can change membership, and equal-count breadth does not weight assets by market capitalization. The page discloses current membership changes rather than presenting a changing denominator as pure price movement.

Frequently asked questions
What is crypto market breadth?
It measures how many eligible markets participate in an advance or decline instead of looking only at Bitcoin or a headline index.
How many coins are included?
The live metric shows the current count; membership requires an eligible Binance USDT market and at least $1 million of rolling 24-hour quote volume.
Why use the median?
The median describes the middle market and is less distorted by one extreme winner or loser.
Is this the entire crypto market?
No. It is explicitly a liquid Binance USDT spot scan.
What does BTC-led weak breadth mean?
Bitcoin is positive while the median eligible market is flat or negative, so participation is narrower than the headline move.
Can breadth predict the next market move?
No. It describes current participation and can be used to confirm or challenge another signal.
