‘Overbought’ and ‘oversold’ are descriptions of recent momentum, not commands to sell or buy. This page calculates RSI(14) on four completed Binance BTCUSDT spot timeframes and places it beside EMA9/EMA21, MACD, Bollinger position, ADX and DMI direction. The goal is to distinguish a short-lived intraday extreme from a multi-timeframe condition and to explain whether trend strength makes an immediate reversal assumption especially fragile.

Overbought means recent gains were strong relative to losses; oversold means the reverse. Neither condition proves that price must reverse, and the latest still-open candle is excluded.

What does overbought actually mean?

RSI compares smoothed recent gains with losses. A reading above 70 means gains dominated the chosen lookback; it does not mean buyers are exhausted or that Bitcoin is objectively too expensive. In a strong trend RSI can remain elevated for many candles.

Oversold has the symmetric limitation. A low RSI may identify intense downside momentum while price continues falling. The useful question is whether the extreme is isolated, spreading across timeframes or contradicting the higher-timeframe trend.

Why show ADX, DMI, EMA and MACD beside RSI?

ADX estimates trend strength without choosing direction; DMI supplies directional context. EMA and MACD show whether short and medium momentum agree, while Bollinger position reveals whether price has moved outside its recent volatility envelope.

These are not independent proofs because they share price inputs. The table keeps them visible so a user can see confirmation and conflict, but it does not turn correlated indicators into a false confidence percentage.

Why exclude the open candle?

An intrabar RSI or MACD state can disappear before the candle closes. Computing on a changing candle creates unstable alerts and makes later reproduction difficult. Every row therefore publishes its completed candle time in UTC.

Different timeframes close at different moments. A current 15-minute extreme can coexist with a neutral daily RSI; that disagreement is information, not a data error.

How can I verify and cite this result?

Download the page JSON for the complete snapshot and CSV for tabular evidence. Record the API dataset key `bitcoin-overbought-oversold`, the returned calculation_version, observation interval and named source alongside any quoted number. The visible table rounds values for readability; the downloads retain the published precision.

The stable URL remains unchanged when the data refreshes. A new calculation time does not prove every input changed, so compare source-observed timestamps and the stated four completed btcusdt spot timeframes. Missing rows remain missing rather than becoming zero or a favorable estimate.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bitcoin overbought now?

The answer uses completed 15m, 1h, 4h and daily RSI rows and states how many meet RSI≥70.

Should I sell when RSI is above 70?

No. RSI can stay high during a strong uptrend; it is context, not an automatic trade.

Why do timeframes disagree?

Each timeframe compresses a different observation horizon, so short momentum can diverge from the daily structure.

Does ADX show bullish direction?

No. ADX measures strength; DMI supplies the directional comparison.

Are live candle values used?

No. The latest still-open candle is excluded from the published calculation.
