Current source-backed snapshot

This page compares venue-reported rolling 24-hour spot quote volume across Binance, Coinbase, OKX and MEXC for the same common basket of liquid crypto assets. Every constituent must have a USD, USDT or USDC spot market reporting at least $1 million on all four venues. The percentage is each venue's share of that four-venue, common-asset total—not its share of all global crypto trading.

This is share inside one four-venue common asset basket, not each exchange's total global spot market share. Venue volume methodologies, USD-like quotes, wash-trading controls and reporting windows can differ.

How to read this page

  • Every venue is measured on the same asset basket.
  • Tracked share refers only to four named venues and the displayed common assets.
  • Reported volume measures turnover, not unique users, deposits or exchange revenue.
  • Compare changes over time before treating one snapshot as durable market-share movement.

What can this page tell you quickly?

Best for
Seeing where activity in a comparable liquid-asset basket is concentrated.
Venues
Binance, Coinbase, OKX and MEXC spot.
Denominator
Sum of rolling volume for the strict four-venue common basket.
Do not infer
Tracked share is not universal exchange market share, quality or solvency.

Why use a common asset basket instead of every exchange market?

Summing every listed market would compare different universes. One exchange may list hundreds of small tokens while another focuses on fewer regulated USD markets. The resulting difference would mix venue activity with listing policy.

The strict intersection holds asset membership constant across all four venues. It sacrifices coverage to improve comparability and publishes the common-asset count so the denominator is explicit.

What exactly does tracked exchange volume share measure?

For each common asset, CoinNudge selects the venue's largest USD-like spot pair and adds its reported rolling quote volume. Each venue total therefore uses the same base assets, though quotes may be USD, USDT or USDC.

The denominator is only the sum of the four displayed venue totals. If the page says one venue has 40%, it means 40% of this tracked basket—not 40% of global spot trading.

Why should reported exchange volume be interpreted carefully?

Centralized exchanges can define quote volume, day boundaries, market aggregation and excluded trades differently. A rolling 24-hour figure is useful activity context but is not audited financial revenue or proof of organic users.

CoinNudge preserves venue attribution and avoids averaging the figures into a universal truth. A source failure degrades the page rather than turning a missing venue into zero.

How can exchange activity share help market monitoring?

A persistent shift can show that comparable spot activity is concentrating on a different venue. It can guide which order books, premium proxies or venue-specific data deserve closer attention.

One ten-minute snapshot is not enough to declare a structural migration. Stablecoin quote movements, campaigns and large one-off trades can affect the rolling totals.

How can venue share rise while the venue's own volume falls?

The other venues in the measured basket can decline faster. Share is a relative ratio, so it must be read alongside the numerator and denominator in comparable units.

This four-venue common-basket share is not an exchange's worldwide market share or a measurement of customer migration.

  • Retain each venue's volume and the exact common asset basket.
  • Check aligned rolling periods and conversion assumptions.
  • Separate changes in total activity from changes in the distribution across the tracked venues.

Method and data boundary

CoinNudge anchors candidate assets to its crypto-only Binance liquid universe. For each venue and base, the highest-volume USD-like spot market is selected. The final basket is the strict intersection: an asset remains only when Binance, Coinbase, OKX and MEXC each report at least $1 million rolling quote volume. Venue total is the sum across exactly those same assets. Tracked share equals venue total divided by the sum of all four venue totals. Rows rank by tracked rolling volume.

This is share inside one four-venue common asset basket, not each exchange's global spot market share. Venue volume methodologies, USD-like quotes, reporting windows, affiliate markets and wash-trading controls can differ. Reported volume is not revenue or current order-book depth.

Frequently asked questions

Is this global crypto exchange market share?

No. It is share inside the displayed four-venue common liquid-asset basket.

Why not sum every pair?

Exchange listing universes differ and would make totals less comparable.

What is the liquidity requirement?

Every common asset must report at least $1 million rolling spot volume on all four venues.

Are futures included?

No. The page uses USD-like spot markets only.

Does more volume mean a safer exchange?

No. Turnover does not establish solvency, custody quality or regulation.

Why can the basket size change?

Rolling volume or market availability can move an asset into or out of the strict intersection.
