This page ranks the current 50 highest-volume eligible Binance USDT spot markets by annualized realized volatility from the latest 24 completed hourly returns. It also shows seven-day and 30-day realized volatility when enough history exists, 24-hour high-low range, price change, ATR percentage and ATR percentile. Ranking by return dispersion rather than absolute price change surfaces markets that moved repeatedly in both directions—not only the day's largest gainers and losers.

The ranking uses annualized backward-looking hourly return dispersion, not expected future movement. The current liquidity-selected universe can change, and high volatility does not identify direction or a favorable risk-adjusted trade.
How to read this page
- The table ranks dispersion of closed hourly returns, not absolute gain or loss.
- A coin can rank highly after moving sharply in both directions while ending near flat.
- ATR percentile compares the current range regime with the coin's own recent baseline.
- High volatility identifies risk and attention, not a profitable direction.
What can this page tell you quickly?
- Best for
- Finding liquid markets whose realized movement regime is currently elevated.
- Universe
- Up to 50 eligible Binance USDT markets above $1 million volume.
- Ranking
- Highest 24-hour annualized realized volatility first.
- Do not infer
- High realized volatility is not a buy signal or forecast of continued movement.
Why does the volatile-crypto ranking use a liquidity screen?
Extremely small markets can show enormous percentage moves after very little trading. Mixing them with actively traded markets creates an eye-catching list but gives users no comparable execution context. CoinNudge first selects eligible Binance USDT spot markets with at least $1 million of reported 24-hour quote volume, keeps the 50 highest-volume names, and only then ranks those names by realized volatility.
The screen does not certify that a market is liquid for every order size. Reported daily turnover and current order-book depth answer different questions, so the page keeps the volume column visible and links to the separate liquidity dataset. The universe can change as turnover changes; that constituent effect is part of the stated method rather than hidden selection.
| Step | Rule | Reason | Remaining limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Asset policy | Native-crypto USDT spot only | Removes known tokenized securities and stable-value products | Classification can require updates |
| Liquidity floor | At least $1M reported 24h quote volume | Reduces micro-market noise | Does not guarantee depth |
| Universe cap | Highest-volume 50 eligible markets | Keeps collection bounded and comparable | A qualifying coin can sit outside the cap |
| Final rank | 24h realized volatility descending | Answers which selected path was most dispersed | Does not rank expected return |
How can users compare a 24-hour volatility spike with longer history?
Start with the 24-hour realized-volatility rank, then compare seven-day and 30-day values in the same annualized unit. A short-window value far above both longer windows describes an abrupt regime expansion. Similar values across all three windows describe a more persistent high-volatility condition. A blank long window means insufficient closed history, not zero volatility.
Next compare the high-low range, net return and ATR percentile. A wide range with a near-flat return signals two-way movement; a large return with elevated realized volatility shows direction and path instability together. These combinations support investigation and risk planning, but they do not establish whether the next move offers favorable reward relative to risk.
Why is this not another crypto gainers and losers list?
A gainers list uses start-to-end return. Realized volatility measures dispersion across every hourly return in the window. A coin that rises 10% and gives most of it back can have high volatility but a small net daily change.
That distinction helps users identify trading and risk-management conditions without hiding mid-session instability behind one closing percentage.
| Measure | Captures | Does not capture |
|---|---|---|
| 24h price change | Net direction | Path instability |
| 24h realized volatility | Hourly return dispersion | Future direction |
| 24h range | Highest-to-lowest span | Sequence of moves |
| ATR percentile | Current range versus own baseline | Cross-coin dollar liquidity |
What does annualized realized volatility mean here?
The hourly standard deviation is multiplied by the square root of the number of hours in a 365-day year. This common scaling places different windows in a comparable unit; it is not a prediction that the same regime will persist for one year.
Short 24-hour estimates are more responsive and less stable than seven-day or 30-day estimates. The longer windows remain blank until enough closed history exists.
How do ATR and realized volatility complement each other?
Realized volatility uses close-to-close returns. ATR incorporates gaps and intrahour highs and lows, then normalizes by price. An elevated ATR percentile says the current range regime is high relative to the same coin's recent history.
When both measures rise, risk has expanded across closes and intrahour paths. They are related price-derived evidence and must not be counted as two independent confirmations of direction.
What should a volatility-regime alert explain?
A useful alert names the realized-volatility window, current value, prior baseline, ATR percentile, range and liquidity floor. It should not simply call a market hot or promise a tradable opportunity.
CoinNudge can surface a regime change after the hourly close. Position sizing, stops and whether to trade remain the user's decision.
How can I compare a newly listed coin with a coin that has a full month of history?
Compare only windows that both coins genuinely cover. A 24-hour estimate for a new coin is not a substitute for its missing 7-day or 30-day estimate.
Volatility ranks dispersion rather than expected gains. Sparse-history estimates can be unstable and cannot establish a long-term risk profile.
- Check the completed return count behind each volatility window.
- Keep annualization, sampling interval and price venue identical.
- Report the new coin as short-history rather than ranking its missing longer estimates as zero.

What is measured, and what is not?
| Measured claim | Evidence on this page | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| One liquid market had greater completed hourly dispersion than another. | Same-unit 24-hour realized-volatility calculation. | The ranking can change next hour. |
| A coin's range regime is elevated versus itself. | Price-normalized ATR percentile. | ATR does not identify direction. |
| The sample passes a liquidity floor. | Current Binance 24-hour quote volume. | Reported volume is not guaranteed order-book depth. |

Method and data boundary
CoinNudge selects up to 50 native-crypto Binance USDT markets above $1 million in current 24-hour quote volume. Hourly log returns use consecutive completed closes. Population standard deviation is annualized by the square root of 8,760 for 24-hour, seven-day and 30-day windows. The 24-hour value requires at least 90% of 24 expected returns. ATR(14) uses Wilder smoothing on closed hourly candles, is normalized by close, and its percentile uses the preceding valid ATR-percentage history under the published indicator method.
Realized volatility is backward-looking and annualization does not mean the token will move by that percentage next. The current volume-selected universe can change, Binance is one venue, and high volatility says nothing about direction, liquidity at order size or expected return.

Frequently asked questions
How is the list ranked?
By annualized standard deviation of the latest 24 completed hourly log returns.
Is this the same as 24-hour price change?
No. Price change measures direction; realized volatility measures the path's dispersion.
Why annualize a 24-hour window?
It provides a common volatility unit, not a one-year prediction.
Why can 30-day volatility be blank?
The local series does not yet have enough complete hourly history.
Does highest volatility mean best opportunity?
No. It can also mean greater uncertainty, slippage and loss risk.
How often does ranking change?
Approximately hourly after a completed candle.
